Life Time Tri San Diego to Offer Discounted Registrations to Newport Beach Triathlon Athletes
In light of the postponement of the 2017 Newport Beach Triathlon, Life Time Tri is offering a heavily discounted $25 race entry and race morning packet pick-up for their upcoming Life Time Tri San Diego event (October 15) to all those impacted by this unfortunate turn of events.
“We share in your disappointment that this historic race will not take place this year, and want to do our part to grow the sport of triathlon, cultivating goodwill across our industry,” says Scott “Hootie” Hutmacher, Brand Manager for Life Time Tri. “We want triathletes to realize that we’re not only vested in the Southern California market, but in each of our hometown markets.”
As a token of goodwill, registrants are invited to make a donation to Life Time Tri’s official charity partner, Save the Children – the leading international children’s relief organization, working in 120 countries. Funds will support Save the Children’s current recovery efforts in Mexico City, Houston, and South Florida. Learn more and donate at www.savethechildren.org.

Life Time Tri: San Diego
Life Time Tri San Diego will be held Sunday, October 15 at South Shores Park in Mission Bay – site of the first modern triathlon in 1974. This event, formerly known as Esprit de She (SheRox and Reebok prior to that), has evolved from its 2003 origins as a women-only event. It now features a co-ed audience, although the majority (63%) of registrants remain female. The event will continue to provide the same, female-only wave starts and non-competitive opportunities for which the original event became famous.
In addition, the event features a new 4-person Mixed Relay competition, as well as offering 132 qualifying spots for Life Time Tri’s new Championship event held July 1, 2018 in New York City. San Diego will be the eighth and final race in the 2017 Life Time Tri Series.
